Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned August 15th 2022.

Muted sense of head creation for an IPA. Fleeting bubbles of bright white barely making two fingers with a quick dissolve an no retention at all. Opaque body, but not sludgy, with a nice shiny bright lemon yellow color to it as well.

Aroma is a big earthy note of hop, but doesn't hint of sweetness coming. Faint touches of tropical fruit as well, but mostly it's burried under this huge powerful earthy soil dirt smell. Big nose that nearly smells like a tree forest.

Palate though is a completely different animal. Soft bodied with a lactose touch of light sweetness, but a whole different hop flavor that really gets showcased on the tongue. Rich pineapple with a creamy sweet milk mixes wonderful with spicy bitterness for balance. Chewy and leafy touching hops of green herbs, with this pineapple juice flavor that doesn't come off like box juice either. Finishes soft bodied with a matching soft bitterness too.

Really neat take on this new evolving style. Not a sweet mush mess which is a neat surprise.

Hazy, opaque, lemon-yellow body. Very good head production and retention.

Pineapple features prominently on the nose, amplified by the vanilla and milk sugar, and complemented by the hop profile. If it's fairly one-note, that one note is really darn inviting.

Very, very sweet on the palate, but perfect for a fruited IPA sub-style. Big malt body; huge pineapple presence; perfectly complementary hops. The vanilla comes through cleanly and beautifully; adds to the already creamy body.

My oh my. This is a sweet fruited IIPA, but it's nothing less than amazing. This is a pineapple vanilla smoothie. Truly delectable.

Juicy, sweet, New England style pineapple juice. Dangerously easy to drink, if you enjoy pineapple this is the beer for you. Very well done, Hoof Hearted nailed it with this variation.

Pint can dated 9/4/18, poured into tulip at 42F.

Pours an opaque, turbid dark yellowish/orange pineapple juice color. 3 finger head takes its sweet time receding, leaving behind some sticky lace. Edit: some foam, and a good collar have persisted all the way through.

Nose is chunks of juicy ripe pineapple/pineapple juice, some mango, ripe strawberry, juicy hops, and even a little hint of Belgian-esque yeast. I'm not picking up much lactose on the nose. A little waft of vanilla tucked in there too. Pineapple and hops are the dominant nose. NOT an artifical pineapple, or pinapple flavoring. Straight ripe pineapple, that isn't overbearing at all. Let's the hope shine through. Ohp. Now I'm picking up on the lactose a little. This can was poured too cold. Edit: lactose definitely comes out more as this warms up a touch.

Palate is pineapple/vanilla/hoppy CREAM. Suuuper creamy, good dose of vanilla, pineapple galore, a touch sweet, a wee bit bitter, good hoppy profile, and cream for days. Licking my lips is like licking pineapple vanilla ice cream off of them. *Dangerously* smooth for 9.0% ABV. That booze is nowhere to be found. There's a good sweetness to it, balanced by the acidic tropical fruit, further balanced by the slight bitterness from the hops. This is good.

Mouthfeel is heavy cream, with excellent carbonation that keeps the creaminess from becoming cloying. They call this a "decadent frappe DIPA", and that's an excellent summation of the mouthfeel on this. You want a fruit smoothie DIPA? You got one.

Overall, I really wish I tried this fresh. If it's this good after sitting unrefridgerated for a month and a half, I'm sure it's even better hot off the press. I would not call this ''world class", as that's a big big lable..but outstanding? Yes. This stands outside the majority. Thus far - easily the best (D)IPA with lactose I've had. Get it if you can, even if it's a little old.

12oz draught at Slab, Portland.

Cloudy gold with a decent head and retention. Big tropical nose with loads of pineapple, mango, and grapefruit. On the fuller side of medium bodied with a fluffy, soft, creamy mouthfeel. Ripe, juicy citrus on the palate with zero malt or bitterness. Quite dry despite the lactose and pineapple juice character. Finishes with lingering tropicals.

Great beer, a real juice-bomb.

1 PINT can
Served in an oversized, stemless, wine glass

This beer pours like pineapple juice. It is yellow and turbid. It is topped with an inch of off white head that leaves decent lacing.

The smell is pineapple along with tropical fruit and vanilla.

The pineapple is pronounced and complimented by citrus flavors from the hops. The vanilla is subtle.

Medium mouthfeel

This is another dangerously drinkable, big IPA from Hoof. This is a great beer, but I think I like the peach a little better. If only I had them side by side for the sake of science.

This is a fantastic beer. Probably one of the best "Milkshake" IPAs I've had. Super well balanced. Just enough of each flavor coming thru. could crush this beer, but too bad it's 9%. This will get you buzzed up good if you don't watch it.
