On tap at Stanley Beer Hall. Poured a cloudy, golden yellow color with a good-sized foamy head. It left sheets of lace on the glass. It smelled of spices, caramel, toffee and yeastiness. Mild citrus taste with spices and sweet caramel.

I bought two 16 ounce cans from Beer Drop of this mildly tarted saison, that start off a summer evening with refreshment.

Small Hold Looks to have modest foam, but retains it well enough for a tart saison. Smells are only average fruity, in part because plum does not stimulate like lemons and citrus. Tastes however are well-balanced; enough tart to dull the fruit and dry the finish. At only 3.3 ABV this has a remarkably full mouth.

My first from Our Mutual Friend, I went on their website and offer this micro-review. They are common among Denver brewers, but their competition is uncommonly good and this makes Our Mutual Friend better. They push all the buttons of building community, sustainability and locally sourced crafting. On that mission for eight years, they seem to be making it all happen together. And for that, I give them some pretty good OA Hugs.

I will have the second can with some summer fare. And based on that, I will look forward to buying some of their other saisons and Belgian pales. A Votre Sante' and to the Rockies that produces this remarkably concentrated Belgian beer culture and competition like no where else in the U.S.

I'm pretty sure I've never had a beer this light (only 3.3%!) that wasn't some generic trashy mass-produced thing. This was actually quite tasty for such a low-alcohol beer, and this base saison could lead them to lots of other experiments. Right now it's only available in a 16 oz can, but that means you can session these all day long.
