this one is hopefully a work in progress. my least favorite of the brews at this place to date. it pours a fine pale golden color, plenty hazy, with no more than a pinky finger of white bubbles on top. the nose is overly yeasty, and there is a strange concentrated lemon juice thing going on, but other than that rather generic. the taste is akin to spent grains to me, like they tried to brew this with third runnings or something, its depleted in some way, not rich and luxurious and farmy like saison should be, its bland and expired. that said though, theres nothing offensive about it to me. I mean, I put a glass down no problem, but I just didn't enjoy it that much. lacking the yeasty complexity and delicate feel the style demands. fine carbonation and a very light body, something missing again. id steer clear of this one, but the coffee stout was pretty impressive. hopefully this one evolves a bit as the brewery gets a little more established...

This beer pissed me off. Its ash tray taste didn't combine well with the horrid service. I thought about not adding this beer, but if it helps others avoid this disastrous beer I suppose it's worth it.

Looks good. Golden, slightly hazy pour. Good white foamy head.

Smells is a bit underwhelming and a hint of smoke foreshadows the abyss of ash about to unfold. There are hints of spice and herbs, some grassy notes. Sweet bread.

Yeah, those wonderful things are murdered quickly by an over powering cigarette ash tray smoke. Dirty, too. Pepper? No, it's blasted to bits. Clove? Assassinated.
While some lower-rated beers have no taste, this has an awful one. When asked if this is normal for their beer, the bartender asked me if I've ever had a saison before. Insult, buddy. Yeah, I have and this beer is a shame. Either they dumped cigarette butts in the fermenter, or somehow the roasting got out of hand. This is bad. Won't ever order it again, mostly due to the attitude of service.

Didn't drink more than 3 gulps. Gave it to a friend who initially liked it, but couldn't stand the ash. I tried it again as it warmed. The aroma came out more, but the flavor didn't improve.
