Our fans guessed correct! We’re releasing our 8th collaboration with Deftones, Ceremony DDH Hazy IPA. This brew takes an easy drinking Hazy IPA and pushes the limits of our dry-hopping regiment- doubling down on the juicy and tropical hop varietals.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Monkish 16-oz. mug
Price: $3.49
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 17, 2021
Consumed: Sept. 28, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 17, 2021
Headed over to Windmill Farms to look for some new North Park ones. Was out of luck there but did come away with eight other cans. Have had a love/hate relationship with the Deftones collabs, most of the times all love, giving Phantom Bride a 4.31 on Aug. 19, 2017, Good Morning Beautiful a 4.31 on March 5, 2018, Digital Bath a 4.06 on June 22, 2018 and Dia De Los Deftones a 3.94 on Oct. 17, 2019. I guess that is all love, but Phantom Bride is so hit and miss for me. Sometimes it’s great, other times it’s just off. Anyway, back to this beer. Untappd description was “The latest in our collaboration series with Deftones, Ceremony takes an easy drinking Hazy IPA and pushes the limits of our dry-hopping regiment - doubling down on juicy and tropical hop varietals that merit commemoration. Sit back with a can and enjoy the revelry of the Double Dry-Hopped initiated. Cheers!” Mentioned hops with a little bit of research were Citra and Galaxy. Sounded nice.
Poured a light golden hazy color with four fingers rocky white head. Could see lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect layered foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Galaxy, peach, passion fruit, nectarine, mango, red grapefruit, stone fruit, Citra, pineapple, melon and raspberry. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. More Citra than the nose and just a tad more than the Galaxy. Also red grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, stone fruit, raspberry, melon, herbal, orange and floral. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
An outstanding New England IPA. Just a really nice beer. (Overall - 4.00)

It’s a hazy one.
Enjoyed three weeks after its release. Low aroma. Some pineapple, a little orange juice, a little bit of minerality. It’s decent enough
From a can.

Taster at Growler Guys. Golden pour, light haze, wispy head. Light piney aroma. Taste is pale malts, fruity, mildly tangy and bitter. Well balanced IPA.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces very nicely.
S: Dank earthy herbal notes, southern hem diesel, tropical and stone fruit, citrus, slightly grassy, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Mix of tropical, stone fruit, and citrus, passion fruit, lime, tangerine, mango, apricot, grapefruit, and hints of lychee and strawberry, a little southern hem diesel, grassy spicy herbal notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, very subtle hop burn.
O: Hard to go wrong with Citra and Galaxy, I just wish the nose was as fruity as the taste.

pours a super hazy pale light yellow body with an excited off-white frothy foam head that has high retention and leaves tons of splotchy thick lacing behind as it slowly settles to a patchy thick-island cap with defined halo
aroma is sweet and juicy and clean - super floral and tropical hop kick
taste is super juicy tropical fruit (mango mostly) that bitters up slightly towards the end with a floral and earthy bitterness lingering
mouthfeel is high carbonation and lighter side of medium bodied that runs smooth, juicy, and billowy with occasional wateriness before finishing dry with a crisp tinge and leaving a super hoppy mango and orange peel earthy aftertaste
overall:
delivers the goods. as promised, it's super easy with a killer medley of hops, especially on the backend as the brew bitters up and balances the sweetness of the mango forward tropical notes. damn good overall, though nothing in particular sticks out to set it apart from any other NEIPA

Fruity, hoppy, hazy bomb! Prefer it to the Deftones Phantom Bride.
