Poured from a bomber (#2170/3000) into a stemmed weise, the beer is a bright, hazy, orange-cold coloring, with a sparse, thin, clingy, white foamy head. Aromas of abundant herbs and spices, most notably clove, cardamom, all spice, and nutmeg. Past the spice rack, you find subtle citrus sweetness, mango, and a bready backbone. Pretty layered nose. Flavors are fruity, heavily spiced, and slightly tangy. A full, heavy bolt of orange and mango hit the taste buds first, rich and sweet, followed by a wake of coriander, clove, and nutmeg. Solid bready backbone, with a building acidity, as well as some subtle funk throughout. The body is big and bold, bordering on chewy, but it washes over the palate and away quickly. The aftertaste is a spiced fruit juice character, with a solid blend of mango, orange, and the spice blend. Smooth, slick finish, with a subtle spiced and cloying linger. Interesting beer.
