Being the first BA to rate this beer, I didn't know what to call it. The brewery called it an American Pilsner - certainly nothing like either a German or Czech/Bohemian Pilsner so I am calling it an American Lager. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer featured a bubbly white head with average retention and some lacing. I'm glad they listed the ingredients on the can because I could only categorize a slightly sweet, floral and fruity presence, a little peppery aspect and mild maltiness. The can referred to "Mesquite Wildflower Honey and Chiltepin peppers and conditioned on Scorpion Salt and Prickly Pear. The overall flavor was good, but more than the basic crisp, maltiness and slight grassy hops found in most pilsners. Mouthfeel was somewhat crisp, fruity and sweet with a noticeable pepper touch. I found it unusual but quite enjoyable.
