A truly lovely and supremely refreshing Grisette. A light, bright, and lively farmhouse ale made with chamomile, lemon peel, and a blend of our favourite American and Alsatian hops.

Poured a 355ml can into a tulip. A scant one finger fine white head on a slightly hazy amber lemon. The head diminishes to a thin layer.
Fruit in the nose.
Very mildly tart. Less fruit than the nose. Lightly funky. more fruit up front as it warms. A long, dry finish.
Very smooth. a light body and moderate carbonation.
A very nice farmhouse style ale. Light and refreshing. A surprisingly big flavour for a low ABV brew.

Wild Ale (Grisette)
Date: unknown
A gift from a friend, thank you! The can says grisette, but the website says wild Ale. If this is a grisette, it will be my first. A frothy and foamy bright white head was created from the pour. Chunky lacing was the glass after a somewhat quick dissipation. A deep golden with a yellowish brown hue, charting the color around SRM 6. The haziness is evident, probably from yeast and grain. Overall, the appearance is above average.
The aromas are akin to saison. I smell lemon, floral, that funky yeast, crackers, basil, oregano, grass, and a touch of horse blanket.
The herbal notes leap off the palate, basil, oregano, and bay leaves. I also taste lemon peel, funky yeast, crackers, horse blanket, grass, and mineral.
The mouthfeel is dry and astringent, thus finishing tannic and puckering. The body is light with medium-high carbonation.
The main issue I have with beer is the harmony with the flavors. The sharpness of the wild ale and the hops keep the beer single noted. I think if something in the beer tempered the tannic puckering, this would be a fantastic table beer for a Sunday dinner under a pergola with family. Good beer, however, can be fabulous.

12oz can served in a tulip. Don't see a date on it. Received from @Coronaeus in a LIF associated with NBS BIF #15.
Pours a kind of murky amber-orange color with a smallish head. Smell is funky, spicy, a little earthy. Lemon and something herbal that came across as basil to begin with.
Taste is surprisingly rich and bitter. Yeasty funk comes across clearly, lemon zest is screaming. Moderate to mild tartness.
Mouthfeel is kind of thick and creamy. This is an interesting beer. Strong, bold flavors and low alcohol. I feel like the flavors could be better balanced somehow.
