Dark Grisette aged on hibiscus and raspberry

Named after the female Saint who took in abandoned women and taught them the importance of hops and other plants in healing during the Middle Ages. This beer was brewed on National Women in Beer Day by the ladies of Burial Beer Co. The grisette is a farmhouse style of beer traditionally brewed for coal minors in France and Belgium (much like saisons where brewed for Farmers). The name "grisette" translates to "grey" which was the color of the uniform worn by the women who brought the minors beer. We took this traditionally light colored beer and darkened its color to create an anti grisette. We then aged it on hibiscus and raspberry to get that wonderful combination of tart and sweet. While dark in color, this beer is light in body and flavor.
