16oz can with an illegible date (other than 2018) poured into a pils glass
A: Translucent orange with a 1/2-finger head that lingers
S: Malt, lager yeast, rye, caramel
T: Mostly a malty lager (shout out to Riverbend as they're quite tasty), also a bit of bite from the rye
M: Medium-bodied, rather dry, extremely smooth
O: Lagers are underbrewed, underappreciated and it's nice to drink one that's well made. Goes down easy on a warm summer day

When I read this beer was a APL, I was not to enthused. Several APL are thin and lack character. I read up on this beer and it sounds promising. Served the beer in a pint glass at 50 degrees. ( the summer makes beer warmer faster). The beer had a massive three finger head with fair retention. The head is bright white foamy and airy, leaving just ring around the glass. The color of the beer is SRM 7, an amber color with mild orange and yellow hues. The clarity of the beer is almost clear with a touch of haziness. Abundant amount of carbonation persist within. Overall a really good appearance for APL.
The aromas in the beer is spicy rye, toasted malt, slight grainy sweetness, floral, and a touch of citrus.
A tender yet spicy noble hop profile with floral, grainy sweetness, citrus, spicy rye, toasted malt, and a biscuit note.
The mouthfeel of the beer is crisp and clean.
The body of the beer is light, medium-high carbonation, and a light finish.
I was surprised by this beer, this is the best APL I have drank to date. The beer has character and flavor yet it is refined. The hops is there but in a subtle way. The beer is an easy sipper and pleasing on the palate.

16 ounce can, unreadable date, picked from the source’s cooler. Poured into tulip.
Pours a bright golden orange, slightly hazy. Only a small white head after somewhat aggressive pour. Recedes quickly but leaves lacing. Small amount of orange citrus but mostly lemon, grain, cracker malts, florals. First sip reveals a doughy and lemon profile. Hints of banana bread and clove. Light floral hops and the faintest of rye spice. Honestly, expecting a bigger rye bite. Slick mouthfeel when it’s cold, crisped right up and warmer temps, light on the carbonation.
Fairly simple but a different lager.
