Hoppy for a lager. Almost closer in both appearance and taste to an IPA rather than a lager. Overall pretty good. Just not as smooth as I'd hope for in a lager.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy medium to dark yellow in color with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and faint medium golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a few patches of small to medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Just shy of moderate aromas of bready + pale + cereal grain malts with a light amount grainy sweetness as well as light aromas of herbal + spicy hops.
T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of bready + pale + cereal grain malts with a light amount grainy sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of herbal + spicy hops which contribute a light amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp.
O: Easy to drink and quite enjoyable + refreshing, I could easily have a couple of these with the well hidden alcohol. Not quite as malty as some other lagers but with a nice amount of crispness.

12 ounce can dates 10Aug18. Poured into Lagunitas wide mouth mason.
Pours a deep yellow, Golden with just off white head of 1/2”. Recedes fairly quickly. The nose is lemon, cereal grains and just a bit of corn. Reminiscent of those macro AALs.
Taste starts out with corn cereal, cracker malts, lemon with just a bit of light hops. Feels pretty traditional. Tastes a lot lighter than it’s abv. The body is very light and bubbly. Finishes crisp.
I love just about everything Burial has done. I visited Zillicoah last April and thought everything on tap was solid. This is considered an average craft lager for me. Hoped for more malt backbone.
