Pours a kind of muddy yellow with an amber core. Not the opaque nature this era enjoys, but not clean by any means either. Mostly just kind of... murky. Nice little dirty off white head that settles into a ring with fizzy coating. Good lacing as I sip down.
Nose is an interesting blend of star fruit (I've only ever gotten that once before... and both times it was unmistakable) with some kiwi and grapefruit. Maybe some grass and a dull earthiness as well. Pinch of honeydew could be a projection of those green fruits and the 'huell melon' name, but maybe not.
Flavour is somewhat earthy and bitter pine, but there's a layer of light nectar sweetness over it.
Finish leaves that kiss of nectar sweetness on the end of your tongue.
This feels like a more classic APA which appeals to my senses moreso than the alternative.
Also, this has nothing to do with how good the beer itself is, but the can artwork is super cool. I just wish it was printed on or a paper label instead of the plastic can wrap (for purely selfish reasons)!
Thanks @Dragginballs76 for sending this along as part of NBS BIF #8!

16 ounce can, dated 14AUG2018. Poured into tulip.
Pours a slightly hazy golden soft hay. Fingers worth of head. Sticky lacing.
Soft nose of grapefruit, papaya. Floral, honey, finishes like oranges and melon. Maybe some strawberry too. Smooth mouthfeel with tiny bubbles or carbonation at the end. Solid sessionable pale with a ton of mellow flavor.

A: Pours a hazy pale golden apricot in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + medium yellow + honey colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy bright white head that reduces to a couple of small patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of tropical/strawberry, citrus/grapefruit, tropical/melon, stone fruit/apricot, and herbal hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + honey malts with a light amount of honey-like sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + honey malts with a light amount of honey-like sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of tropical/strawberry, citrus/grapefruit, tropical/melon, stone fruit/apricot, and herbal hops which impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness which slowly fades away.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink and enjoyable with well hidden alcohol. A really nice APA with slightly lesser bitterness than traditional versions of the style but still with some and a really enjoyable hop profile.

Can stamped 14AUG2018
Hazy pale orange with a loose bubbly white head that sticks around the edges. Aromas of leafy herbs, berries, melon, and apricot. Similar flavors...strawberry, apricot, pine sap, and yellow cake and some of that Burial house character. Medium-light bodied with a dry finish. Solid - interesting hop flavors.
