Coconut Vibes is our Vibes imperial stout recipe infused three times with raw and toasted coconut flakes (because we can’t fit all of it on one try!) and a dash of cocoa nibs from Ghana. For this release we also blended in roughly 18% barrel-aged imperial stout which was aged for 21 months in Willett bourbon barrels to elevate the base beer for the coconut to integrate into.

Incredible. Thick chewy cloying without being overly sweet. The perfect adjunct stout.

Look - Pours a pitch black color with a super dark brown head that quickly dissipates.
Smell - Coconut and chocolate. Simple but nice.
Taste - A nice coconut and chocolate flavor. Not sweet, but not bitter either.
Feel - A very thick, creamy mouthfeel that goes so well with the coconut and chocolate flavor. Perfect.
Overall - This is one my favorite non-barrel aged stouts. At least, I'm not tasting the barrel aging, and the bottle says nothing about it, but the current BeerAdvocate description says it "was aged for 21 months in Willett bourbon barrels"?

L - Deep motor oil black with a dark tan head that dissipates relatively quickly, leaving behind a thin cap and minor lacing.
S - Sweet, milky coconut and fudge - smells like unsweetened coconut milk, which doesn't necessarily smell great, but it smells like it should with the ingredients
T - Sweet milky coconut up front and throughout intermixed well with fudge and bakers chocolate - very faint notes of bourbon. As it warms, some of the toasted coconut shines through
F - Full bodied with light carbonation - soft, velvety smooth, oily slick
O - Pretty straight forward - like a silky smooth mounds bar - tons of rich chocolate and coconut - very well done, yet simple. The only thing that could be better is the smell

Appearance - The stout poured a velvety black color with much of the carbonation suffocated.
Smell - The nose was sweet with notes of coconut and chocolate.
Taste - At the front were notes of sweet, milky coconut. This was followed by a strong chocolate presence. It was like a Mounds bar, but better. There was no bitterness. The chocolate lingered longest into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - The body was thick allowing the profile to linger for an extended period.
Overall - I liked it a lot.

Black with no light penetration. There's a fingernail of brown around the rim and a third of the top. The aroma is of chocolate and coconut, like a Mounds bar. I'm tasting coconut, dark chocolate, and black licorice. The mouth is very thick and viscous. The alcohol is well hidden.

Blend 3 - on draft at SP 10th anniversary. This is like a dark choco mounds. Thick and chewy, but the sweetness is reeled in and perfectly balanced. One of the best Non-BA stouts I’ve been lucky enough to try. Excellent beer.
