Tried at the Denver Rare beer event. Very dark appearance with tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a very prominent vanilla that is amazing. Taste is not as expected with the vanilla and the addition of the rye which I think was masked by the vanilla in the smell test.

Pours pitch black. Viscous, sludgy liquid. Nose is huge vanilla, marshmallow and chocolate. Spicy rye bourbon aromas throughout. Taste follows the nose, bitter chocolate, huge wafts of marshmallow, vanilla frosting, spicy bourbon overtones noted. Thick, silky mouthfeel. Overall, an absolutely fantastic stout.

5oz draft pour. pitch black. shiny. zero head nor any bubbles. smell is like a frosted fudge brownie. the chocolate and vanilla dominate although the spicy rye barrel becomes a little more prominent as it warms. taste follows with fudge brownies being the dominate flavor. subtle and sweet spicy rye on the finish. mouthfeel is thick, sticky. it almost seems like it’s tasting it straight out of the barrel. i’m not huge on straight vanilla stouts and this is insanely good.
