750ml capped bottle into Referend stemware.

Pours blood red. Dark...near no carbonation. Nose is heavy on the raspberry and tart cherry. Seedy. Acidic. Pungent. Beer opens heavy on the raspberry puree and seeds. Acidic with little sweetness for balance. More of the same and turns a touch vinegary on the finish. Very intense. Body is light with little to no carbonation. Smooth, vinous on the palate. Puckering finish.

This one's past its prime and has seen better days.

 

 

 

i was mighty stoked for this raspberry beer, their prices are absurd in here, but its almost always worth it, so i dove in. its pretty beer, ruby red like the label, tons of fruit evident right away, sour as can be in the nose, it just seems like everything from these guys has gone insanely acidic, like rare barrel used to be, they may need to consider a similar restart, because the bacterial element has well outcompeted the funky brett side, and its in almost all their beers, i was thankful to be sharing this four ways, and even that felt like a lot of this. less lambic funk and oak here, its tart fruit and acidic base beer, lemony, but the raspberry is amazing, so i cant be too critical, its natural as can be, dosed to high heaven, pungent in the nose and equally robust in the taste, really an insane expression of fruit in a beer, just gorgeous raspberry. the flavor is amazing, not all fruit, some red wine and oak on this too, a hint of sour cherry, red licorice, subtle vanilla, sour lemon juice, a bit of raw wheat, so much fruit. its delicious, but its so acidic it hurts my teeth, burns my tongue like sour patch kids, and gets more intense in this way as it warms. its oddly strong too, hidden well but this catches up with me pretty quick. i think its an awesome base beer to drop all this fruit into, and i like the beer a whole lot, but their beer here is getting so sour, even not aged, its just all acid, and i really cant drink much of this, great as the flavor is. not sure i can continue to invest in the beers with such low drinkability, its almost novelty level stuff now that i dont want anywhere near a whole bottle of most of them. fun to try, i love side project, but man, this is harshly sour...

 

 

poured from a 750mL bottle into a wine glass. pours a deep dark red. with minimal pinkish head. smells of jammy raspberries with an underlying oakiness. taste is raspberry jam up front with a mild acidic tartness in the finish. mouthfeel is quite full. lower carb and a smooth drinker. overall, this is a raspberry showcase. there’s elements of the base blend of oak-aged wild ale and saison but the jammy raspberry just takes it over the top. excellent beer.

Shockingly opaque velvet red, looking more like a slushy than an American lambic-style beer, with a thin bubbly white film dying to nothing.

Toasty oak that's almost nougatty brings with it a maple accent before seedy tart raspberry takes hold with a nice juiciness. The medium body has a stinging carbonation bringing up red grape and a puckering sourness before an unusually fluid dry finish.
