Poured on 2-19-22, as part of Side Project Stout Week. As all Candles, this was served still. Of all the Candles I've had, I had the most reservations about this one, as apple brandy can overwhelm the brew. On the nose this presents itself as a big barrel aged stout. There is a sweet and robust roast to the aroma, and with this one a good vanilla addition. On the palate you can tell that there is a barrel influence on the beer, but not the full bourbon or brandy that you might expect. This then melds itself to a very surprising vanilla punch at the end. I enjoyed this outing.
