Brewed with a traditional barley variety grown locally in NY and malted in MA by Valley Malt. Balanced light grassy malt character with a floral hop aroma and smooth bitterness. Fermented with a yeast strain from Pilsner Urquell and lagered in one of our horizontal lagering tanks. Akin to the early days of Pilsner brewing, well balanced and sessionable.

Clear pale golden body, big white head, webs of lacing. Smells of lemon pith, leafy hops, grains and a hint of grass. Taste stars lemon, leafy hops, mildly grainy bread, and pale malts. Really bice balance, but could be more bitter. Feel is pale, light, clean and mildly full

L-Light golden/yellow color...some chill haze...head holds and laces nicely

S-Cereal grain malts...grassy hop notes...

T-Grainy malts...a bit of lemony hop flavor....ok...kind of middling flavor....nothing stands out...

F-Seems a touch thin in body...

O-Nothing remarkable here. Definitely malt forward as this style should be but kind of bland overall. Not bad by any means but nothing jumps out for me here to score it better than average...

Pours a very light yellow with a moderate haze, brief 1" head with brief retention and minimal lacing. Nose is lemongrass, straw, deep and clean minerality. Taste is moderately sweet; fresh baked bulkies; touch of grassy bitterness, but dissipates pretty quickly. Feel is somehow crisp and slick, like carbonation mineral water. Overall, this plays exceptionally light (which is not surprising given the ABV), but would have liked just a little more hop punch to balance the sweetness.

Underwhelming across the board. A rare miss for Schilling.

Appearance: Pours a clear goldenstraw color with a frothy head; good retention and soapy lacing

Smell: Bready with a hint of noble hop grassiness

Taste: Bread crust forward with a hint of sugar cookie sweetness underneath; through the middle, the grassy hop flavors move the profile in a more balanced direction; medium bitterness lingers

Mouthfeel: Light body with moderate to high carbonation

Overall: Schilling does a nice job with the style here

L: The beer pours a straw color with crystal clarity and three fingers of fine, white head mounding up over the rim of the glass. There is good retention as the head slowly falls to a 5 mm ring around the glass and a less substantial sheet occupying the interior leaving a nice ringed and spotty lacing on the glass. This one is beautiful in the glass.

S: On the nose I get grainy pale malts, light notes of bread crust, a bit of yeast character, subtle notes reminiscent of freshly cut windrows of alfalfa interlaced with wildflowers, and a hint of noble hop spice.

T: This one follows the nose pretty closely. I get grainy pale malts, some honey bread crust, notes of fresh cut grass, and light notes of a peppery noble hop spice. Any upfront sweetness from the malt is cut by the hops leading to a nice medium bitterness.

F: Medium-light body with medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth with a nice light drying on the finish.

O: This is a homerun from Schilling. It has a nice balance between the hop and malt bills, but the palate does come off a bit more hoppy than the nose would suggest. At about a week under 3 months old this one has excellent shelf stability as I do not detect any oxidation or "faded" characteristics. This one is highly recommended.
