Can from Tasty Beverage Co., Ommegang glass pour. Canned 6/18/18.
Cloudy, grapefruit-colored brew. Thin, pasty white, failing head.
Smells of generic melon, grass, wheat, yeast. Maybe something hinting at guava, but it’s probably just the color. Couldn’t tell that this was made with strawberries.
Creamy, pasty, pasta water texture; not pleasant. Does taste faintly guava-ish, maybe like watermelon rind, but it’s mostly just goopy, melted carbs & water. A touch of bitterness & a light sparkle tricks me into third & fourth sip of porridge.
Up the bubbles & maybe it’s worth a shot.

A: Pours a cloudy medium pinkish orange in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate orange + pink + pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of slightly sweet, slightly tart strawberries over the top of light aromas of slightly spicy, slightly funk yeastiness, and a light to moderate aroma of pale + biscuit + doughy malts with minimal amounts of sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of pale + biscuit + doughy malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of slightly spicy, slightly funk yeastiness. Finally there is a light to moderate flavor of slightly sweet, slightly tart strawberries. There is no perceptible hop presence and minimal amounts of bitterness with the strawberries flavors lingering slightly.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of acidic tartness and a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Vey natural strawberry flavors and aromas. Enjoyable.

Feel: It has a moderate body with a slightly tart and sweet finish.
Overall, the flavors are elegant with the tartness and Belgian qualities which makes for a pleasant beer.
