Enjoyed on tap at the Dive Bar tap takeover.

A - Poured into a tulip a nice hazy cherry juice hue with a thin wispy head that fades to leave light wisps.

S - Big aromas of red wine. Tons of merlot like aromas, very red berry notes along with light oak.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of slightly sweet red berries. Good gritty wine notes.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, vet fruity.

O - Overall this was a very solid fruited beer with great wine notes. Very clean finish.

Appearance: Pours a bronze tinged magenta color with a one finger head that fades to a collar; shards of lacing

Smell: Funky and acetic, with Merlot grape and oak aromatics

Taste: Acetic Merlot grape flavors forward with the sweeter side of the grape peeking through; the middle has a dose of barnyard funk and oak while the finish is acetic and puckery

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; moderate pucker factor

Overall; A bit more acetic and dry than some of the other Fonta Flora fruited sours and, to be honest, I prefer the cherries and berries to the grapes

a dead sexy merlot grape wild beer, a lot more acidic and outwardly sour than some of the other fonta flora beers i have had, but a hard one not to be impressed with. reddish purple like beet juice, active little head from the bottle, and a bright radiance uncommon in beers like this. the aroma is awesome, the funky tangy yeast in front of the fruit here, familiar to me now from other fonta flora beers, but sharper here, still wild and funky and mature. the grapes are killer in the flavor, juicy and tannic and way more grapey than winey, which i feel like is also sort of uncommon in wild ale, where the wine elements take over the fruit part. i like the grape flavor, and it has other fruity nuance with it, concentrated blueberry and black cherry, a bit acetic and majorly puckery, even painful on the teeth, throat, and gut, but i love the flavor and drink my portion of the bottle up pretty quickly because its so darn interesting. grapes in wild beer has been my top interest the last year or so, and this is another wonderful specimen in this growing subgenre. i cant get enough from fonta flora right now either, they keep on killing it, and their beer remains highly refined and super exciting more often than not. this was enjoyed by all who tasted it, not sure how anyone couldnt like this. gorgeous.

Bottle pour. Pours a bright vibrant ruby red. Thin pink foam head that dissipates quickly. Nose is of berries, grapes and musty. Taste super tart to start. Definitely one to make you pucker. Notes of grapes, raspberries and blackberries along with smooth oak and light yogurt notes. Thinner body and decent carbonation with a sour acidic finish. It’s good but definitely a bit on the unbalanced side imo.

On tap at Brewskival 2018.

Pours a clear, vibrant red with some wispy foam.

Smell is tart, with notes of raspberries, grapes and some funky oak.

Taste is bright and tart, with soft notes of cherries, raspberries, grapes and hints of funk and oak. Very well balanced.

Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice, balanced sour with nice, soft acidity and a lot of fruit.
