A quenchable and crushable fruit beer with local blueberries.

Mashed with local barley from Riverbend Malt House and flaked oats. Fermented with our clean and crisp house saison yeast blend. Injected into the fermenter with one whole actual ton of super extra local blueberries courtesy of our friends at Perry’s Berry’s. Fermented again on the blueberries until bone dry. This quenchable and crushable fruit beer boasts an the most intense dark purple color you will find in any beer in the whole wide world. Maybe that’s not true but it sure is beautiful.

A bit thin, but sweet, light, smooth, and chock full of berry notes. Love the coloration on this beer, and the head is absolutely beautiful. Just a bit creamy, which adds some texture.

Not generally a fan of saisons, but this is a very decent representative.

16 ounce can, the date on the bottom of the can is a solid black block. Poured into a mason.
Pours a brighter purple/red. Looks like beet juice. Fluffy, fingers worth of head at pour but has settled into about an eighth of an inch for most of the glass when I drank it. Translucent
The nose is raspberry, blueberry, crackers.
Good flavors of slightly tart, lemony then not so ripe raspberry, cranberry, wheat, and cracker malts.
Very light, dryer and as labeled, “quenchable and crushable”. Probably better in the summertime but works just the same as I rake leaves.

Appearance: Arrives hazy and deep purple colored with a two finger blueberry juice colored head; splashy lacing

Smell: Slightly grainy with a hint of Saison yeast phenols; the blueberry is detectable but doesn't overwhelm

Taste: A hint of grain, up front, with the blueberry tone developing; slightly tart, with a dry finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Easy to drink with just enough flavor to be interesting; I like the dry quality

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear very dark deep reddish purple in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate deep purple + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall fizzy foamy pale reddish purple head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer (75%) and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of pale + oat malts with a light hint of grainy sweetness as well as slightly stronger than moderate aromas of slightly spicy/peppery saison yeast and very light aromas of lemon citrus. Moderate aromas of slightly tart blueberries.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of pale + oat malts with a light hint of grainy sweetness. That is followed by very light flavors of lemon citrus and moderate flavors of slightly spicy/peppery saison yeast. Slightly stronger than moderate flavors of slightly tart blueberries towards the finish. There is a light to moderate lingering flavor of tart blueberries and saison yeast.

M: Light to medium bodied with slightly heavier than medium amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and enjoyable with a really nice blend of saison + fresh tart blueberries. Not overly sweet and I would gladly have a few more of these.
