Oooh, my first from yet another NC brewery. I've heard good things overall but I know nothing about this brewery specifically. Batch #2 bottled July 2024 5.2% abv.
12.7 fl oz bottle poured into a Treehouse Teku glass.
Appearance: Interesting Swarovski crystal yellow beer with a surprisingly limited amount of carbonation, Almost no life, but it's there. Golden straw yellow, clear, limited activity. Not still, but very low activity. Surprising for the style.
Aroma: Pleasant lambic aroma. Smells like a tilquin beer actually. Very clean, very pleasant, definitely lambic aroma. There are the clover flowers. This is very pleasant overall on the nose. Very clean. No off smells. Sweet. Pretty good.
Taste: WOW. Watermelon much? Yep. Light lactic acid response, very light. Very sweet, watermelon taste. Light clover taste. This is weird in a good way. It's good. It's...less dynamic than I was expecting while also being super clean, crisp, etc. It's good. It's enjoyable. It may leave something to be desired.
Mouthfeel: Light, crisp, drinkable.
Overall: Nothing to write home about, nothing bad. I like it. It's a hard style to do well, and they did a fantastic job here. So balanced. Light, nuanced. Very good. I'd buy it and drink it again. I wouldn't plan a road trip around trying to find it. Pretty good, not amazing, definitely above grade. Good.

Light gold, bright clarity, compact layer of foam. Sour orange, grapefruit, watermelon, botanicals. Tart and juicy, moderate acidity, finishes dry. Crimson clover imparts a unique aroma & flavor, this is cool stuff.

Purchased this beer at a beer store in Asheville over the Christmas holiday.
Poured into a tulip glass. Bright clear yellow color with a a brief effervescent head and little lacing. Very floral smell and taste. Crisp taste and feel. Apricot and dry white wine. Herbed honey. Pleasant and refreshing beer. Good feel for the style.

Batch 1, bottled January 2023
I love when a brewery pulls out an obscure style like Bière de Coupage, I love it more when they put dandelions in it, and I love it even more when Fonta Flora does it. I’ve been wildly impressed with what I’ve had from them so far, and I’m sure this one will be no different. Let’s get into it
Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a finger of soapy white head that slowly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is very floral here but there’s a great funk to it. I’m picking up on aromas of crabapple, pear skin, dandelion, lemon zest, wildflower honey, petrichor, tannic white wine, and light apricot
It’s more of the same in taste, with just a touch less tartness. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting apple skin, lemon zest, dry oak, wildflower honey, dandelion, stone, and white wine vinegar. The swallow brings notes of stone, pear skin, lemon zest, bready malt, tannic white wine, dry oak, wildflower honey, and dried apricot
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in crisp beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshing
This one is super unique beer. I expect nothing less from Fonta Flora
