Canned 3/10/25; drank 3/23/25 @ the Yarchives.
See-through amber appearance.
An even pour yielded a small, noisy khaki head; minimal lacing remained.
Rye, sea salt & autumn leaf notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Autumn leaf & mild rye spice flavors up front; mild, sticky caramel notes on the finish.
Nice autumnal vibes here but this was a bit sticky for me.

Clear amber red body with a khaki colored tight head. The rye dances with light amber malts atop of base of packed dirt in the smell. Taste is definitely more prominently rye and yeast with the rye winning out, slight hint of banana and almond, still plenty of earth, and a touch smoke. Body is more lively for a roggen beer, which is welcome, light yet very earthy

16oz can from Tavour. Clear amber pour, fizzy cream colored head, then flat. Aroma is dark rye bread with a little caramel sweetness. The taste comes in on a creamy, smooth body, toffee, rye, nutty, sweet. The mouthfeel is heavenly. Tastes so great Great example of the style.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 3/4/24.
Appearance: lovely medium amber-orange hue with a dash of haze and a thin layer of ivory foam atop. I would have liked more head, but the color is very nice.
Smell: sweetish, a little bit bready, and just the right amount of toasty. The rye is not overdone, which I appreciate.
Taste: a little toasty, a little biscuity, and just sweet enough to complement those elements nicely. Bitterness is low, but it works.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this is an interesting and kinda unique beer (it defies categorization: amber lager? Roggenbier? Stein beer?), and I’m finding it light and refreshing. Ambers are not typically my thing, but I’m giving this beer points for style.
