Brown body that is decently transparent, no head outside of the short-lived beige collar. Smells of bourbon more than rum, with toasty barrel, raisin, molasses, and barley. Taste is a dark fruit explosion relative for a barleywine: plum, grape, and date especially, rum backing is sweet with the molasses but fits right in. Tobacco, oak, barley, and brown sugar there too, not too sweet at all. Feel is warm and very smooth, good barrel character depth, but not very dry for an EB, medium-light bodied

Bottled on September 2024. Derk brown with some reddish hues when held up to the light. No head. Toffee and molasses aroma. Malt heavy, very sweet flavored. Toasty. Can get a hint of the rum barrel aging on the back end. Mouthfeel is much thinner than I expected, but it makes for an easy sipper.
