Batch #4 with a 6.9 ABV.

Pours a murky yellow color with a bubbly white head. Head is gone in 60 seconds. We'll call it Nic Cage.

The aroma brings lots of coriander, orange peel, lemon zest, and a nice peppery spice. There's also a hint of sweet banana, which was a surprising note to find.

There is a lot going on in the flavor here. I get some tart lemon zest up front, a touch of sweet orange, and plenty of wet grass. There's also some very faint banana and bready yeast notes, followed by a subtle cracked pepper flavor. Finishes with a sweet, lemonade flavor.

The feel is light bodied with good carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing. Not as dry as expected.

Overall, a fantastic saison that brings so many flavors it's surprising this doesn't get more recognition. Just a great all around beer.

Wow, this beer is AMAZING. Very sour with wonderful fruity notes. Exactly what a tart saison should be. I guess i can see why people would like this if you bought it expecting Saison Dupont, but damn this is good

Thanks to Bankhead for sharing this one at mrbubbler's tasting.

Pours a hazy light gold with a foamy bone head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is sour with grain, funk, fruit, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour fruit and acidic flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and refreshing.

Serving type: bottle.

Wasn't expecting a saison to be so tart; was thrown off by that. Unclear how they market this as a "lawnmower beer for the sophisticated," as I have no idea what that means. Did not get a spicy finish off my bottle -- just a whole lot of tart. Tasted like a sour apple shandy, maybe?

Look: Transparent golden straw with very little carbonation. Looks more like a wine then a beer.

Smell: That classic saison funk greets the nose, clove banana, Belgian sugar, straw, mildly grassy, sweet, wet, and clean. Smells great.

Taste: a surprising tart on the attack followed by straw and farmhouse funk, slightly white pepper, Belgian sweet, banana, clove, and a sweet tart finish kind of like a saison jolly rancher. Tasty stuff.

Mouthfeel: Crisp, clean, and tart. Prickles the tongue and is more akin to a sour then a typical saison in a very good way. The only strange part is the finish is still wet unlike the typical sour dry.

Overall: A very tasty well crafted brew. All your usual saison notes are the but wrapped in a more sour style package. It's clean and tart but packs a bunch of tasty flavor. Great stuff and you can tell a lot of love went into the bottle.

750ml poured into a tall-stemmed JK wine glass

A: Pours an enticing-looking color of honey tangerine, golden lemonade around the edges. Barely produced any fizzy bubbles that don't stick around at all. Even vigorous swirling doesn't agitate the beer much.

S: Heavy on the tropical fruit; I get pineapple, peach, mango, and a bit of banana. Smells a lot more like a new world sauvignon blanc or chardonnay than it does a beer (not necessarily a bad thing).

T/M: Tropical fruit aromas are replaced by crisp & snappy green apple flavors. Certain lemon-lime element to it as well, and the body supports this.

O: 100% purely in the 'tart farmhouse' style, if this is Proclamation's base tart farmhouse beer, they've got a great palette to work with. Add some fruit to this, or experiment with various wine barrel aging, and they'll have something here. Very good and well worth checking out.
