Canned 7/11/22. “Maynah melon” stamped on the bottom of the can
The OG Laggy Pop (which I have not had) seems like nothing out of the ordinary with its addition of lime and sea salt, but replacing that lime with watermelon? Now that’s something you don’t see very often in a Lager. Let’s see how this summer crusher treats me on a cold night
Pours a mostly clear pale straw with 2 fingers of white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose here has a nice tartness to it despite its simplicity. I’m picking up aromas of juicy watermelon, tart lime, toasted grain, sea salt, light grass, and honey
The nose was promising something fun, and while it’s not bad, I find myself a bit bored tasting this one. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting watermelon, sea salt, bready malt, honey, and light candy. The swallow brings notes of bready malt, sweet honey, toasted grain, and watermelon candy
A light body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry but much too sweet
This isn’t awful, but it fails to deliver on the promise of fun given neither the adjuncts or the base Lager shine through very much
