Grassy all the way. Super grassy. That's the definition of this beer. Mild sweet edge, almost like citrus. Grass is very dominating here though. Decent and a good exercise is single-hop-dominant beers.

On tap at the Stag's Head. Poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: Nice hazy yellow tinged orange, with a long lasting fizzy white head. Good lacing.

Smell: Ambiguously pungent and faint hops. Some citrus. Maybe earthy, but that's probably just the name placebo'ing me.

Taste: Starts citrusy hops then everything is eaten by overcarbonation. When the carbonation wave recedes, there's a really nice grain aftertaste.

A few sips in, and it's clear that this beer should have been called Styrian Goldings Pale Ale. Maybe a little citrus and motueka funk, but mainly it's herbal, cologne-like noble hop sweetness. Tastes so much like a light pilsner that I wish it actually were a good pilsner.

Mouthfeel: Light body. Lots of carbonation (over, for me). Pretty dry. So feel-forward (if I'm allowed such a stupid term) that it masks the already subdued flavor.

Overall: Decent but mediocre summer pale ale. If it's any summary, I left the bar with the glass half full.

Other Half has potential, but I'm not all that impressed. Maybe I need to take a trip to Brooklyn and see how it is at the source.

The beer is straight up Motueka pale ale as advertised. There's a melon quality of an unripen honey dew Then onto citrus peel, spice, and a big punch of grass, spicy, and floral. The traditional Saaz German breeding of this hop surely comes through.

A really delicious sessionable hoppy brew.
