From fridge to counter for 30 minutes. Poured into a snifter and notice dark black color with thin brown edges. Half finger of head with quickly dissipating lacing. Smells of chocolate with some vanilla in background. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Definite roasted pistachio notes on initial taste. Some bitter chocolate taste on end. Solid imperial stout.

Pitch black pour with only a faint khaki ring as stars in this galaxy. Chocolate, vanilla, and generally nuttiness with a touch of nougat fills the aromas. Taste is way more roasted, the nuts have a burnt like aftertaste that really distracts, vanilla and chocolate combo though is superb. Feel is viscous, sticky, surprisingly not he most smooth, but hides the huge booze well. The over roasted/burnt taste holds this one back

Pours pitch black with minimal head. Huge aroma of vanilla, brown sugar, pistachio. Wow. Very flavorful. Lots of vanilla, noticeable chocolate, pistachio is in the background. Very sweet with a slight bitter espresso finish. ABV is not noticeable. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Overall, OH knocked it out of the park with this one. Outstanding.

Mid sized bottle, from the source, no dating/vintage info.
Over the top, dark, thick, rich, tasty.
Pours darkest of dark, minor mocha cap, leaves a thin collar and scant film.
Nuts, dark malts, dark chocolate on the sniff.
Motor oil in the mouth, super thick, rich and velvety.
Complex, big, bold, over the top delicious. Smooth dark malts, cafe au lait, molten chocolate fudge...
OMFG....world class Imperial stout

Picked this up recently along with the other Deep Orbit that was released with it. Yes, this was a beast of a beer that came across as an Imperial version of the "We've Been Out There In Orbit" and if you enjoyed any of those in the series, than you'll be delighted by this too - although this one requires a long time to savor and fully enjoy!
Of course, the liquid was dark with a slick and syrupy consistency to it as well. Enough mocha head topped it off but it wasn't thick or long-lasting and to my surprise, there wasn't any lacing to be seen either as I sipped this down. Lots of pistachio, cacao nibs, and booze in the nose as this came across as quite strong. Raspberry syrup, brandy, chocolate sweetness, and some warming from the booze could be detected in the taste as this was quite delectable without being too rich or succulent. The vanilla felt exotic, as if it was from Madagascar, as there wasn't a lot of powder or grittiness to be felt, even after I finished this off and let it linger on my palate.
Sure, this is strong but if you don't want there, nearly every other beer would have less alcohol in it. This was certainly an Imperial Stout but felt just a bit weaker than it was in actuality. For a change, this fit the bill but it was certainly hard to not have this as an endcap to a drinking session!
