Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Triple / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $21.21 for a mixed 4-pack
From: Blind Lady Ale House
Purchased: March 31, 2021
Consumed: April 3, 2021
Misc.: Canned on March 4, 2021
Grabbed this as part of an Other Half mixed 4-pack at Blind Lady Ale House. I love that BLAH is doing these lately as I’m on their website every day. Psyched to see an Other Half drop in San Diego. Hoping it becomes a regular instance although the first four I had were nowhere as good as their Untappd ratings. Untappd description read “A big new triple, packed with Citra, Strata, Sabro, Galaxy, Citra Cryo, and Sabro Incognito.” Those hops sounded great together.
Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden color with two fingers of frothy white head. Could see some bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Sabro and Galaxy jumped out on the nose, but also got the mentioned Citra and lesser Strata. Also grapefruit, pineapple, weed, passion fruit, apricot, coconut, cedar and some stone fruit. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted a little better than the nose. Sabro jumped out again, followed by Galaxy and Citra, and lesser Strata. Specifically grapefruit, pineapple, weed, coconut, cedar, passion fruit, apricot, peppery spice, pine, stone fruit and woody forest. Fairly smooth for 10 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. (Feel - 4.50)
This was pretty damn good. Excellent overall. (Overall - 4.25)

Pours a turbid golden color - when I say turbid, I really mean it. The head is two fingers high, with a white color. In terms of its aroma, multiple facets are presented. It has classic citrus tones I like from an IPA, as well as a secondary berry note. Considering it's 10%, it's no surprise the malt backbone is both assertive and layered. Some light caramel is tempered by biscuit, ginger, and table sugar. The alcohol presence is perfectly concealed. I don't find it as punchy as I'd like, but I do find it as complex as I'd like. It tastes more assertive than it smells, while keeping all the positive qualities. It opens juicy - almost like orange juice with a little bit of blueberry juice mixed in. It becomes malty near the middle and end, but in a great way. There's a delightful combination of vanilla cream, ginger, and table sugar; even better, it doesn't seem very boozy at all. Nor does it have the "pineapple juice" vibe of most triple IPAs. It's also unbelievably creamy and thick on the palate, with just enough dryness to leave it easily (and without significant residual sweetness to boot!) You could definitely say...the mouthfeel is...voluminous (YEAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!) Carbonation is low. All in all, I'm very impressed with this one. I love how it has a multi-faceted flavor profile and a rich, decadent mouthfeel while retaining a relatively easygoing nature. I'll definitely have this one again!

Dark, murky opaque orange with a fluffy white head.
Pine, lemon zest, and tropical fruit on the nose. Bright and fresh smelling.
Big, berry sweetness up front with a dank, dry finish. Initially every sip tastes a little bit different. There's also hints of pineapple, mango, and pine. It's really balanced, layered, and complex.
Mouthfeel is creamy and thick, but definitely not overly so. It coats the mouth and throat nicely and has really nice zippy carbonation.
This has to be one of the better IPAs I've had from OH in a while. It's got the big, tropical berry sweetness that OH is known for but it's really nicely balanced with dry notes and dank pine as well. Similar flavor profile to some of their "Green" series beers but a little sweeter and brighter. Really great.
