Pours dark, mostly still, big island of dark head. Smell is rich, chocolate, spicy rye. Booze, something figgy. Taste is spicy rye, wood and char bitter, modest vanilla and flower sweetness. Mouthfeel is thick and velvety. Nice beer.

Pours deep, almost black with a mocha colored fluff to cap. Decent retention for style leaves layers of lacing.
Nose is warm. A bit of spicy rye and booze starts off. Then some cocoa and deeper sweet notes come in. Date, perhaps figs.
Flavor follows the nose. Warm rye and booze jumps off before slowly allowing for more nuanced sweets.
Chewy.
Delish.
