Reviewing this beer from memory. My forty second brew reviewed from these guys. Like most beers from Boston Beer Company, also known as Sam Adams, this is just ok.

Clear golden color with a nice, white head. Malt, grass, and herbs in the aroma. Classic pilsner taste. Really good interpretation of the classic style.

Have to go back to May 2016 for notes on this bottle. I wrote at the time it was an "average pilsner." I was exploring a lot of pilsners back then and really didn't find many that made me want to reduce IPA consumption -- though I was looking to reduce abv per drink a bit. Basically learned that I much prefer Dunkel to pilsner.

Nice with pizza, watching stream of final Ringling circus show. Tears in my beer.

Poured from 12oz bottle into dimpled mug. Enjoy by date is April of 2017.

L: Very clear straw yellow, with finger width white head that doesn't have great retention. Decent lacing left behind by the ring of bubbles.

S: Herbal and pine hops, good strong malt backbone of lightly toasted biscuits. Clean.

T: Hop oils are strong, lots of herbal and a hint of pine. Again a strong malt backbone of crackers and biscuits. Clean flavor.

F: Light body, super crisp and an easy drinker for sure.

O: Really a stellar aroma and taste, home run by Sam Adams here.

Bottled December 2016; poured from a 12oz bottle into my Harriet pilsner glass.

Brilliantly clear pale Stil de grain yellow body with a large stand of off-white foam. Rocky lacing, superior retention.

Base malt, faintly herbal/grassy hop notes, and not much else in the nose. Clean, but unremarkable.

Malty palate entry, with faint toast and bread notes along with a distinctive spring barley character. Moderate bitterness - clean and dry with barely appreciable flavor contributions from the hops. Vaguely grainy at times, though not in a bad way. Faint floral notes emerge as the beer warms a bit.

Crisp, well carbonated, and refreshing.

The Mandarina hops are so restrained in this expression that they may as well not be here at all - not a bad version of the style, but decidedly inferior to Noble Pils (a beer I haven't seen on the shelves around here since it stopped being a seasonal offering).
