The beer pours a golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is impressive and enticing, as I pick up honey, a hint of citrus bitterness, light clove and noticeable spice. On the palate, it's just more of the same in this exceptionally well crafted saison style beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but there's a lightness on the palate that's attractive, and the beer has something of a mouthwatering quality. Drinkability is exceptional.
Most of the beers I tried at Alvarado were pretty solid, but this was a standout. Would order this any time I saw it on the beer list. Impressive.
