Glass: Fuller’s London Pride shaker pint glass
Price: $7.00
From: Lama Dog Tap Room & Bottle Shop in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Purchased: June 12, 2020
Consumed: June 12, 2020
Misc.: Canned on May 26, 2020
Specifically went to Lama Dog for Alvarado St. and came back with four and a Humble Sea beer. This one went down as, “Nachos, lemonheads, my dad's boat...the perfect beer for summering. Preferably in Martha's Vineyard. Loral, Mosaic, Idaho 7, El Dorado and Simcoe bring the party in this pillowy-soft, succulent double IPA.”
Poured a medium yellow-to-gold hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Couldn’t really see any bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spotty lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled Idaho 7, Mosaic and El Dorado. Specifically herbal, papaya, grapefruit, floral, apricot, candied melon, pineapple, pear, guava, mango and tropical rind. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got Idaho 7, Mosaic, El Dorado, herbal, papaya, light Simcoe, grapefruit, apricot, candied melon, citrus pulp, pineapple, floral, peach skin, pear, guava, mango and citrus rind. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Damn. Just another legit beer from Alvarado. World-class DIPA. (Overall - 4.50)

Sweet, tropical, yeasty, dank aromatics! You get a whiff of it as soon as it is in front of you. Taste follows with a juicy, tropical dankness that turns into a citrus bitter swallow. This has great mouthfeel and softness and gets better as it warms...if it was a tad bit creamier it would have fit my palate perfectly.
Reviewing again for 2020 batch with slighlty different hop profile!
Sweet tropical hoppy, bready/biscuity, and hint of orange citrus nose on this one! Taste follows with a soft and juicy, tropical hoppy and sweet orange citrus bitterness. Feels good on the palate. This is good!

Picked this up on May 23rd 2019 and drank on May 29th 2019
Looks great. Very hazy (cloudy). Can't describe the color, but if you've had any Alvarado Street NE DIPA's, the look is about the same.
Smell is tropical fruits (mango, pineapple dominate). On par with the 2018 release.
Taste follows the nose. Just like 2018, pineapple is dominant. Not dank, but there is a tropical fruit taste here. Not much bitterness at all. There is just a hint of alcohol burn on the finish, but with all ASB NE-DIPA's, it will diminish after a couple weeks. Still though, incredibly delicious. Full bodied.
Really enjoyed this one. Recommended.

Pours very hazy bright yellow to light orange. Good head formation, better-than-usual retention and lacing for Alvarado dipas; good overall in style. Smell is fairly pungent; giving off bright citrus notes and apparent yeast. Taste follows the nose. It's quite juicy, with noticeable yeast overtone. There is mild alcohol warming on the back of the throat, which is unusual for Alvarado beers. Great body for a NEIPA, slightly below average carbonation. Good NE DIPA, though not the best by these guys. Definitely worth the purchase.

Poured uniformly hazy & cloudy, looks like pineapple juice. Full-on juicy & a bit danky aroma and taste, commonly referred to as a juice bomb.
Feel is pillowy soft & smooth, good carbonation, low bitterness, but alcohol is not as well masked as you'd expect.
Overall, a nice summer hazy from ASB. Would probably go perfect with a boat.
