Family Miner is our nod to the late 19th century Grisette: the table beer crafted to quench the thirst of stone and coal miners of Belgium. This contemporary interpretation was brewed with a large portion of raw and malted wheat, European noble hops, and open fermented with our native saison microbe blend. Notes of floral hops, hay, and pastoral funk with a stony minerality create a complex, yet inviting beer. Bright, dry, and revitalizing; from us to you, we present Family Miner.

A grissette for the holidays!
This pours a straw colored gold with tremendous foam. I had to act fast—the bottle didn’t erupt but slowly rose. Earthy and rustic, strawberry straw and cracked pepper on the nose. Some spice on the sip, hints of rye, touch of strawberry juice on the end. Wonderful effervescence. Fantastic brew.

really cool beer here, looks like a rad series of beers from these guys, this is the first of it that i have seen. its a funky mixed fermentation sort of grisette, low alcohol, complex, and highly drinkable, the kind of beer i am really high on right now, and i darn fine example of it. a lucky find in the denver market, a leftover from gabf or shelton fest or something it must be. the packaging is pretty and so is the beer, clear through the first half of the green bottle, then taking on a soft hazy, really pale and minimal looking, under an inch of thin fizzy white head. i smell some citric tartness right away, some mature brett behind it, an almost berliner simplicity with lacto and white wheat leading the way, but notes of white wine, dried herbs, lemon zest, and maybe some saaz hops. the flavor is beautiful on this, springy and light with moderate sourness and a lot of yeast complexity overall. a seemingly multigrain mash in the mix too, maybe a little peppery rye here with the wheat and pils malt. bready and clean, a little raw, and with the delicate herbal finish from the hops. lots of citrus, white wine, and dry grain. its a pleasant drink, a volume thing for me, and its wonderfully well carbonated. id love to get my lips on some more of these yeast of eden beers, this was a delightful introduction to them. i love a good wild grisette like this!
