Wow, Werk Force has an amazing barrel program, stouts and sours. They have the medals to prove it. This beer is amazing, thick with great adjuncts. Great tasting room as well. If your ever in Plainfield, IL, this is the place to go.

16 ounce can into a snifter. 2020 release, had 12/18/20.
Pours near black and opaque, with only a brief flash of a head and light, spotty cling. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, light pecans. The flavor also starts with a blast of chocolate, then bourbon, vanilla, malt, some pecans and coconut. Smooth, a solid full body, well carbonated.
It’s like drinking a chocolate bar. The barrels definitely contribute, but could be stronger. The pecans and coconut show pretty well. Overall, this is delicious. Really enjoyable.

Pours a deep black with almost no head and no lacing.
The smell is sweet chocolate and coconut.
The taste is very sweet, chocolate, coconut, and caramel with a bitter char finish. There's also a hint of the alcohol and barrel on the finish.
The mouthfeel is thick, low carbonation, and very smooth.
Overall this is really good. The coconut is subtle and balanced, which is good because I hate coconut.

Pours with some nice head. Nose is really chocolatey and caramely. Taste follows with tons of cocoa, very sweet but also nice bourbon balancing it out. Mouthfeel is full. I went into this beer without expectation and was thoroughly impressed.

Appearance: Black bodied stout with absolutely no head resulting from a hard pour. Looks viscous like oil.
Smell: Smell exactly like a rich and decant German chocolate cake. Not much barrel presence in the nose.
Taste: Very sweet and rich chocolate flavors dominate the front and middle of the flavor profile. A little chocolate frosting, nice big taste of coconut and hint of bourbon which adds a hint of vanilla on the finish. Not tasting any of the pecans though.
Mouthfeel: high end of medium bodied stout with low carbonation. Carbonation is adequate and right where you want it dialed in at for this rich dessert stout. Not a hint of booze presence.
Overall: These barrel aged sleepy bear variants are excellent. I am noticing the flavor profiles are meant to be more about the adjuncts and less about the barrel. Without a doubt this stout is like drinking a liquid German chocolate cake.

Black body with a thick, dark tan foam ring. Don't know if I would immediately say it was german chocolate cake from smell or taste, but I really liked it. Fudgey dark chocolate, toasted coconut, bourbon, wood, roasted nuts, a touch of vanilla and more chocolate this time more like milk chocolate. Smell and taste are the same, both very decadent, but I thought smell did better to bring the intensity. Feel is sticky, medium bodied and has decent amount of barrel influence despite the sweeter complexion.
