look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25
Appearance: Pours a completely clear, light and pale lemon yellow color with a strong white head. SRM of 5. (4.00)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of pale malts, honey biscuit malt, bread malt. Moderate yeast with deep bready notes.

Flavor: Moderate flavors of pale malts, honey biscuit malt, some hone yand lemon sweetness linger in the middle. Then it finishes with some more yeast and a slightly dry, bready finish.

Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Appropriate carbonation to match. Balanced.

Compared to Founder's Solid Gold 9/6/22: Pours a lighter color. Similar aromas. Slightly more honey biscuit malt. Also more yeast. Dryer and less sweet. Slightly more citrus as well. Winner: Oliphant

Overall: Really a surprisingly fantastic American lager here. Very dynamic for an American lager. It has nice lemon biscuit and lightly floral and citrus flavors. Bready, yeasty, and a dry finish. Could not nail an American lager better. Probably the best for the style. (Rating within the style: 4.34)

5% ABV. Oliphant Brewing, Somerset, WI.

Clear, yellow, slim white head.

In the nose: Slight grain, cereal notes. light malt.

In the mouth: Crisp, snappy, clean. Light bodied, supremely easy drinking. Moderate carbonation. Quality lager. I've mentioned many times that I normally eschew the category. I tend to turn to pale ales and IPAs for my refreshment. But there's a place for every beer, and this one has it's. Go ahead and have one.
