pours a hazy amber-orange body that has a parade of carbo bubbles that last thru start to finish, along with a billowing off-white rocky foam head that has moderately high retention and leaves occasional thin lacing speckles as it settles to a murky cap with defined halo
aroma is semi-tart strawberry and lactose
taste follows the nose as expected! nothing complex here, just what it says on the tin: strawberry and cream. it's more on the bittersweet and only slightly tart side of strawberry. it's a sweetness level of maybe 3 out of 10 and a tartness of 6 out of 10, I would say. lactose is very lactose-y, that is to say it's a funky semi-sweet cream that comes with that particular mouthfeel.
mouthfeel is mid-level carbonation and medium-light body; it's smooth and creamy for the most part with billowing carbo prickles throughout. it finishes semi-dry and has a slightly tart and funky lactose aftertaste.
overall:
it's pretty good but there are plenty better. it's not very vibrant, leaning more towards the feeling of strawberries before they're really ripened up and juicy, ya know? I'm sure this could vary by the batch, but they didn't date the can as far as I could find. the lactose was very obvious lactose and came with that particular mouthfeel that I am personally not too fond of, but lends a decent sweetness that helps balance the tart strawberry and blends with the natural "funk" there.
all that said, it's a well made beer that's nice to look at and sticks to subtlety that lends itself well to a session type style, and would be a solid addition to any strawberry themed or friendly flight.
