This variant of our insanely thick and robust stout is brewed with copious amounts of chocolate and vanilla. As always we called on Metric for some of their amazing coffee to accent those notes you would come to expect from your mocha-frappe-latte-macchiatocino....with whip.

Thanks to FBarber for this delicious dessert.
Pours a deepest, darkest burnt brown. A mahogany colored head retains a solid finger of froth.
The nose is a smooth melange of caramel, toasty coffee, bitter chocolate, and light notes of cream and vanilla.
Flavors pull from the same story. The initial caramel and coffee roast is balanced and firm. The chocolate comes through as deep, unsweetened, and slightly bitter. The creamy note tones things down a tad near the middle. The finish is warm, espresso and cream, almost afogato in its overall taste and feel.
Mouthfeel is full and creamy.

Pours black with three fingers of dense caramel colored foam. Great start. Aroma is hearty roasty and toasty malts with chocolate, coffee, toffee, caramel, and faint vanilla creating different stratospheres of nuance and depth. It's big and expensive on the nose. Flavor profile is still driven by malts - roasty, toasty, and mild creamy malts, but is supplemented by coffee, chocolate, cocoa nibs, and faint vanilla. It's a swirl of notes, while still leaning on the underlying heavy stout notes for direction and support. Coffee has some great fleshy fruitness and mild acidity to it - a balanced cup of coffee that departs from trucker stop coffee. Mouth feel is creamy and thick. Overall, between the look and feel of this one, it's already a great stout. The underlying stout notes are all well executed, and accented well by the chocolate and coffee additions.

Canned 10/29/21; drank 11/14/21 @ the Yarchives.
Midnight black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE dark tan head (careful pouring!); a thick curtain of lace.
Bold dark roast coffee bean, dark chocolate & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Dark roast coffee bean, dark chocolate & fresh earth flavors; FAINT cream notes on the finish.
Robust dark flavors here; it's a bit much, but on a cold winter night I'm sure it would be appreciated.

This one poured midnight dark and thick with a nice tan head that quickly dissipated. This beer drinks luxuriously. It's thick and rich but not to the point that it's too much to handle. Nice balance between the hops and the malt make this one super smooth and in now way would you guess it had an ABV of 12.5%. Really looking forward to the next one, too!
