Was psyched to get out to WeldWerks for the first time on a recent work trip and thanks to Nick for picking me up. They had so many good beers on tap, but somehow didn’t get any out of Nick’s taster. Split a 4-pack with Nick. Untappd description reads, “This huge Hazy Double IPA is like a greatest hits album of all the best hops we've gotten our paws on in 2019 -- Citra, Galaxy, Sabro, and Nelson Sauvin.” Sounds amazing, even with Galaxy.

Poured a golden hazy color with two fingers of off-white frothy head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. World-class spiderweb lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled pretty damn terrific. For hops in order got Nelson, Citra, Sabro and Galaxy. Also passion fruit, tangerine, pine, grapefruit and stone fruit. More Citra than anything else from the can. Terrific on the nose. (Smell - 4.50)

Tasted almost as good as the nose. Sabro, Nelson, Citra, passion fruit, vanilla, coconut, tangerine, stone fruit, pine, grapefruit and floral. (Taste - 4.50)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)

This beer was tremendous. Wow. Mt. Rushmore for sure for haze. (Overall - 4.50)

Appearance: pollen/lupulin yellow colored. A 1-finger white head forms and fades quickly.

Aroma: drinking from the can: pineapple, banana, orange and coconut. From the glass: overripe banana.

Flavor: way overripe banana and orange juice - like and out-of-date banana/orange smoothie. Think when your bananas start to turn from brown to black and how the banana flavor becomes super concentrated and the texture becomes mushy.

Mouthfeel: medium-medium, but light relative to its 9.4%.

Overall: good, but the overripe banana/coconut (from the Sabro hops) compromises this beer's potential. Synopsis: out-of-date tropical juice. I consider this beer to be a below average WWs IPA.

Canned on 10/1/19

Pours a hazy, borderline opaque golden orange body with around 2 fingers of fluffy white head; decent retention yields chunky stands of layered lacing and a thin frothy collar.

Aroma features a sweetness throughout, highlighting mushy overripe mango and dank tropical notes into a sweet cedar middle; wild berry transitions to a more pronounced dank white grape finish.

Taste opens with dank mango and ripe tropical rinds; blackberry, gooseberry, and herbal earthy tones quickly take hold of the profile from the mid-palate onward, building to distinctly earthy, sweet white grape finish.

Mouthfeel has a medium body lightly accentuated with light-moderate carbonation; consistently smooth along the palate as a slight alcohol bite meshes with a juicy, thinner finish.

Bold flavor and a contrastingly approachable drinkability to match, this one suffers, albeit only slightly, at the hands of its intensity. Despite some edges in refinement, this one succeeds best as an intense, diverse NEIPA experience at a highly easygoing pace.

Pours a bright, opaque orange color with a thin white head and medium lacing

The smell is loaded with citrus and grape. A strong hop note in the background makes me wonder if it'll have some bite. As I drink it a definite weed smell and taste comes through.

The taste is more floral and earthy with a little white grape and a fairly bitter finish. The more I drink the more earthy and weedy it gets. The marijuana is strong.

The mouthfeel is medium/thin body, medium carbonation.

Overall a nice beer, a bit harsh on the finish, lots of flavors.

I’m on a raft, on a river. Floating on my journey, I see everything in which I believe. The color of the water is a dark straw like your sister on a seesaw. As I float, and I dream, I am aware of tropical essence, but also of dead grass. Still, I continue to be. I close my eyes and pretend to sip. Yes, exotic tastes of foreign fruits and other beings (along with said dead grass). Raul is ok, not in ecstasy, but he is ok. Feel is a soft caress, like the thought of ultimately being something, something supreme. It’s here, it’s there, it’s a bit everywhere. Still, Raul is content to see. Raul is content to be.
