a subtle little table saison here, far less sour or funky than most of their other beers i have had, but also quite well done. i like this kind of thing, yeast driven session beers full of flavors other than hops, and this is certainly that. lightly hazy looking pale straw colored beer, delicate and frothy, with a bright golden glow. definitely a wild beer, gently funky and dry, with a lot of bretty sort of fruitiness, citrus notes, and summer farmy mustiness. there is a notable absence of much sourness here, less bacterial, and a dry cereal malt base that tastes fresh and simple to me. this is a beer for drinking. so many of them in here are so drastic, inventive, distinctive, that its nice to just have one to drink on, not that it isnt excellent, or that it doesnt warrant thoughtful appreciation, because it does, but something a little easier going, perhaps less pretentious, and easy going is just what this place needed. i hope to see this one stick around, its a nice summery interlude, and i like the yeast in this context. cool stuff, these guys are really getting it dialed in...
