A French country ale brewed with our house saison yeast. Appearance is a deep leathery copper with a pillowy beige head. Big spice and bready malt character on the palate from the generous additions of Munich malt, Special B, and orange peel. Lagered cold, this beer finishes clean and dry with a firm earthy bitterness.

('LIC Silent Vixen Biere de Garde' - on tap at Blind Tiger, approx. 11 oz pour, served in a tulip glass)
Served with frothy cap atop ochre-shaded, hazy liquid... grapefruit and toasted sugar essences on the nose; fairly bright and bold... booming tart pop immediately up front, with citrus-kissed rigid yet clean malt wash flooding the outlet; having 'biere de garde' in mind, the malt foundation seems to capture that, but the bracing near-sour bite envelopes said malts, packaging the taste neatly, but with delicate frayed edges... silky bubbles, thin prick of acidity, torqued lean malt body; had a bit of distracting lag in the finish, could've been tightened on that end... very nice beer, but a tentative misstep on the part of both server/customer in foggy effort to pair with grilled cheese sandwich

On draft at One Mile House in New York City on Aug. 1. This is my first beer from LIC Beer Project. Decent Saison, but nothing that makes it stand out.
