On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a light orange-ish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This is really nice on the nose, with a clean herbal funk, cereal grain, baked bread, and white pepper.

I'm still not entirely sure how a grisette differs from a saison, but it doesn't really matter as this tastes great. It's so sessionable and drinkable, with quite a lot. A light funky yeast was used here- there's some definitely something wild going on, but it's fairly restrained, with a little bit of fruitiness and grassy funk. There's slight floral hops, and a little bit of pepper on the finish. The malt character is also interesting, toasted bread and subtle spice.

This is light bodied, clean and super crisp, with a good level of carbonation.

LIC Beer Project is a highly underrated brewery, and one of the best in the NYC area.

a really quality little beer here, my first from these guys, and quite impressive overall. not enough grisette being made out there, and this is fine example of it, grainy and interesting on the malt side of things, but also very light. funky in the yeast too, but also very clean, its just great. very pale blonde color to this, and rather clear too, with a fluffy and lasting white head in the glass, lace hangs around too. aroma of funky saison type yeast, even partly wild, with a unique cereal medley behind it. white wine in the nose too, that bright sort of fruitiness. the flavor matches the nose, i really like the yeast and grain together, its clean and simple tasting, but also very interesting, maybe a pinch of rye in here, i get that subtle earthy spice in the middle. extremely light body, vibrant carbonation, and overall a top notch example of a style i wish we saw a whole lot more of from american craft brewers. very keen to get my lips on some more lic beers, i have high hopes for the rest of them after really enjoying this grisette.
