Collaboration with Cellarmaker Brewing Company
2026 Update-- Hops: Mosaic Lupomax, Motueka, Strata, Nelson, Riwaka, and Sabro.
Brewed with our good friends at Cellarmaker Brewing, this collaboration combines two of our favorite beers, Dank Williams and JB. The result is a DIPA dry hopped to the brim with Mosaic, Motueka, Strata, Nelson Sauvin, Wai-iti, and Sabro hops. Giddy up!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a firm layer and leaves a little nice lacing.
S: Ripe exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, nice hit of and coconut, juicy citrus, floral notes, a little pine, subtle green resinous grassy herbal notes, biscuity bready malt, subtle wheat twang, and caramel honey sweetness.
T: Coconut from the Sabro comes right out, followed by a mix of exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, guava, white grape, mango, passion fruit, apricot, peach, gooseberry, pineapple, green melon, strawberry, and lychee, with hints of banana, a little pine, resinous green grassy herbal notes, ripe citrus, tangerine, lime, and lemon, a bit floral, biscuity slightly bready malt, slight wheat twang, and caramel honey sweetness.
M: Full body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, just a hint of alcohol han poke through as it warms.
O: I don't think I was ready for how prominent the coconut from the Sabro was going to be. Once I got used to that, it's a nice tropical sipper. Though I don't think I'd choose this over either Dank Williams or Juice Jr, it's still a funny collab between 2 of my favorite breweries.

Canned 6/20/19; drank 8/5/19 @ Baby Bird.
Opaque orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big white head; nice lace.
Orange citrus, banana & dry wheat notes in the nose.
Soft, medium mouthfeel.
Orange, banana & mild lemon flavors up front; faint dry wheat notes on the finish. No booze heat.
A real nice haze-r!

Surprised & glad to see a GN beer down here in the Bay Area. This collaboration brew with Cellarmaker pours hazy & cloudy dirty straw color, finger+ head that mostly dissipated and left very little spotty lacing. Best feature is a full, tropical fruity & floral/herbal/grassy bouquet for the aroma, taste follows but leans slightly more to the floral/herbal side. Feel is smooth with low carbonation and just a little bit of bitterness. Medium body, not as full and creamy as other GN beers I've had.
Probably the least fruity GN hazy I've had, still a great brew, comparable with double hazies put out by the likes of Alvarado Street, Cellarmaker, and Fieldwork.

16oz can
Pours a solid finger of white head into my Boston Lager glass. Creamy looking at first glance, but seems to get soapy as it fades after a minute or two, ok head retention. Initial lacing looks great. Body is orange juice. Not bad so far.
Nose is very tropical, floral/perfumey as well. Touch of dank and citrus notes, but mostly tropical fruits. Smells very nice, probably a little too sweet, but nice.
The flavor seems to fall short here. It could be the fact that it is borderline flat. The dankness hits and is a little offensive, and then the fruits hit and come across as watery. On some sips it is more put together than others, but overall this is quite flat and that has to be the main problem. I’ll salvage some points because this is largely a mouthfeel thing, but it heavily affects flavor too. I’ve noticed this a fair amount lately, flavor being far different from the nose, and I think this is a Great Notion thing, because I don’t recall other hazies having this problem, to this degree.
Because of the lack of carbonation, the beer comes across especially bitter, at least for a hazy. Body is pretty thin. Not too sweet. Not sure why I’m still writing because the carbonation is all that matters here.
Drinkability is below average. The hops come through harder than usual, and overall it is less enjoyable.
The appearance turned out ok. Lacing was quite patchy all around.
I can still get some good swigs out of this, but overall this is largely ruined by the flat body. It’s a shame too because it had a good deal of potential, especially in the nose.
