took a chance on some great notion sours recently and cracked into them with my brother, these are objectively good, but overly new school, not beery at all, chasing a younger drinker, and while i am kind of still in buy all i see of the new to me beers that come around from great notion, the shine is wearing off just a bit, especially with the fruited sours, so totally over the top. this is what it says it is, and in fact drinks more like strawberry lemonade than like beer, save for the lactic aspect which is real prominent in here, not just that its sour but it also has some flavor, thankfully, because there is so little malt or hop character to this, its almost a kids drink. dull pink, thick, and murky from the pint can, way more dense than i was hoping for, so many of these are like that. the nose and taste are solidly yummy, pleasant tang, obvious lemon, sweeter strawberry balancing it, honest enough of the fruit, clean on the souring, adding more lemon nuance to this, trace raspberry and even white wine character as it warms, but its pretty straightforward strawberry and lemon, a little sweet through most of it, but not diabetic, maybe some faint wheat malt way back, and it warms up to basically pink starburst candy with a little sourness. flavorful and tasty, but a one and done kind of drink that actually kind of left me thirsty for a beer flavored beer, somewhat fatiguing in that regard. i get that these are popular and that they are bringing people into craft beer, but my tastes are definitely evolving away from this sort of thing. insanely flavored but well soured, novelty level stuff for me, spendy too!

Clear, pinkish amber color. Thin, pink head. Lemon, and berries in the aroma. Tart, refreshing taste with fruity notes. Good balance. A nice summer drink.

Smells exactly like the name says. Lighter reddish pink hued body. Has just a touch of grenadine like pink lemonade flavor, mild acetic acidity, refreshing on a hot day for sure.

Solid as most of Great Notion's products. More of a lemon sour than anything.

Can poured into a Founders Brewing Co snifter
A: Pours hazy vibrant pinkish red with a frothy off white head with a pale pink hue that settles to a light layer and leaves a little spotty lacing. Pretty close to the real deal.
S: Pleasant lactic tartness, red berries, sweet lemony citrus, faint wheat twang, and crackery malt.
T: Pleasantly tart, strawberry right up front, hints of raspberry as well, nice hit of Meyer lemon, under ripe tangerine, a little earthiness, wheat twang, slight funk, and crackery malt.
M: Medium body, moderately lively carbonation.
O: I've seen a ton of lime driven sours so been waiting for something like this to pop up. Fun one to try, hits its marks, nothing earthshaking, but it's a nice refreshing sipper.

So I’ve heard quite a bit about this brewery, but given the fact they’re located in California I’ve never seen them here in Mass until last week. I saw 2 different beers of theirs so I figured I’d grab one even though there was no price listed. $7. For a single can. Of a 5.5% fruited sour. This better be damn good for the price I paid
Pours a hazy pinkish orange with a finger of off white head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves no lacing, some streams of carbonation from the bottom of the glass
This essentially smells like a fruit smoothie. I get notes of tart raspberry, sweet strawberry, lemon, vanilla and just a touch of bready malt. Really not bad, but hardly beer
Yeah, this is pretty much exactly a smoothie, reminds me of a raspberry lemonade one at Ben and Jerry’s. In any case, I pick up flavors of tart raspberry, clean lactic sour, and light tangerine up front. The swallow brings notes of creamy strawberry, lemon, and blood orange
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation to create a very refreshing beer. Finishes mostly dry but coats the mouth a bit
So this one was very odd. Maybe it’s the price I paid since I didn’t know until I got to the register, but I wanted something more complex. That being said, it was still delicious, but just not worth the price. I’d get it again, but not frequently

16oz can split between a pair of SIP Fest 2020 snulips. Dated 11/27/20. Gift from my brother in law, so it was probably picked up at the Georgetown location.
Pours a hazy pink with a small head, moderate to low soda-like carbonation. Smell is mild, but basically pink lemonade.
Taste is very tart, fairly light kettle sour flavor but definitely there if I look for it. Raspberry or strawberry, lemon, pretty tasty. Not particularly beery.
Mouthfeel is light and quite dry. Overall, it's pretty tasty, easy to drink, but not particularly exciting to me.

Pours a grapefruit colored body. Pink, orange hues, etc. 2 finger head, Disappeared rather quickly.
Smells like cherries, lemons, and sweet berries on the back.
Tastes exactly like the nose. Lemony, soft sweet berries, malt is not present at all.
Incredibly soft, tart, and dry.
This is my first beer from them and I'm impressed. It tastes exactly like what they promote. Other breweries are so misleading with their labeling, Great Notion does not do this.
