Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: Fruit & Field Beer
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (fire) glass
Price: $3.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: May 27, 2022
Consumed: June 11, 2022
Misc.: Canned on April 19, 2022; Best by Dec. 15, 2022
Grabbed a can of this and a bunch of other stuff on a trip to Windmill Farms. Boulevard’s website description was “Take a step into nostalgia with Dream Vision - Orange Vanilla Ale. This creamsicle delight is bursting with aromas of bright citrus and vanilla that make way for rich flavors of orange and creamy vanilla. You'll find this dream of a beer full, yet refreshing.”
Poured a medium-yellow-to-light golden hazy color with three fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see lots of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. World-class foggy-to-watery lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled orange juice, orange creamsicle, vanilla, peach, apricot, orange sorbet, mango and hints of mint. A little better from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted a smidgeon better than the nose. In order got orange juice, blood orange, orange creamsicle, vanilla, peach, apricot, orange sorbet, mango and melon. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, sugary finish. (Feel - 3.75)
Not sure I needed a whole can of this but it was very good. (Overall - 3.75)

16 oz can poured into a willi becher glass. Appearance is like thick extra-pulp OJ. Aroma and flavor feature too much vanilla, fermented oranges, a weird sour twang, and not much else. Similar to a previous reviewer, I think this tastes like rotting semi-fermented oranges. Thankfully my wife enjoyed it so at least it wasn't a waste of money. Clearly this seems to be a divisive beer so YMMV.

Pours an orange color with virtually no head. Aroma is orange and vanilla. Taste is vanilla cream and orange juice; tastes sort of like a creamsicle. Tangy and a bit sour.

Too much orange...stop with the excessive orange flavors already.

it’s like drinking an orange creamsicle.
My style of ice cream, especially on a hot summer day.
Not my style of beer.
The brewing is well-done, but I don’t like the style.

Poured from a 16oz can, it has some bit of head (if that really matters). The flavor is kinda sweet and a bit different (Oranges) than some of the other citrus juiced offerings lately from other brewers. I have not really tasted anything like it.
I've enjoyed many of Boulevard's barrel aged offerings (quads, stouts and porters). I really like what Boulevard is doing the past couple of years too. So I tried this on that merit alone.
>> I like this, but I can't really put a finger on why I like it really. I guess the whole Citrus infused beer trend has kind of worn me down maybe. But I'd buy this again. I don't usually much care for 'sweet' anything in a beer (especially cloying). And that goes double for Carmel Malt, Toffee, Cherries/Vanilla and stuff. But I will drink this.
Honestly the added flavors are kind of obvious and it is almost like a "girly-bar-drink" that could have an umbrella in it. But I guess I am in touch with my sensitive side today perhaps.

Cloudy orange color with a modest foamy white head that does not last very long but does manage some nice lacing while it lasts.
The aroma is ORANGE with hints of tangerine and vanilla.
The taste follows the aroma; orange, tangerine, vanilla, some hints of sweet malt. A new approach to you morning OJ. The body is medium, creamy smooth, good carbonation.
Altogether this brew should be great for the orange juice fan, all the orange taste with some vanilla and alcohol as a bonus. As a beer. it seems a bit too sweet and maybe too strong on the juice.

Golden hued with a hazy complexion. There’s a fingernail of eggshell white around the rim. There’s tangerine and pale malt in the nose. I’m tasting a wallop of tangerine. The mouth is a touch thin.

Pours a very hazy gold with 3+ fingers of cream colored head. Some lacing & no head retention
S: Some orange notes, plus vanilla
T: Follows the nose, some tart oranges as well, plus dryness. Sweet vanilla & orange, plus a little dryness as this warms. Finishes dry, very sweet with vanilla & a little lime
MF: Medium body, fairly lively carbonation, skews too sweet
Seemed too much like a kid's drink to me if it just had some real balance

On draft. Poured out a hazy, cloudy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange, vanilla, creaminess and caramel. Sweet fruity taste with orange, cream and some vanilla.
