Pours opaque, jet black in color with minimal head and sediment. Taste is toasted coconut, milk chocolate and vanilla frosting. Heavy bodied, low carbonation, sweet but never cloying. I always wanna like this brewery. Some stouts have been hit or miss. This is a hit. Multilayer.

16oz can served in a stemmed pilsner glass. Can says PKG 080222. Bought it at the brewery last May.

Pours black with a small ring of rich tan colored head, small, thin island in the middle. Smell is Mexican chocolate, cinnamon spiciness. Definite coconut notes. Smells sweet.

Taste is coconut, chocolate, cinnamon, and generalized sweetness.

Mouthfeel is thick and chewy. Overall...it's not bad, but I don't love it.

Rich deep brown that borders on but doesn't quite reach the realm of black. Nice velvety dark brown head... maybe half a finger before dissipating to the edges and a cobweb galaxy over top.

Nose is as advertised: Coconut and vanilla. And a bit of medium chocolate and like a medium spice as well that I can't quite identify. It's like a liquid almond joy.

Pretty sweet, but has a nice bitter angle as well. The almond joy comparison continues, as candied coconut and vanilla sit alongside cocoa powder and almost like chicory root. A bit of cold brew espresso tempered with more chocolate and a finish that is a light spicy bite of alcohol (Along with a little bit of the sour character that I get with certain BA beers).

Overall it's tasty, it's sweet, it's boozy. If the words on the label sound appealing, it will probably satisfy.

Head is kinda short.
Smells and Tastes of toasted coconut, vanilla and cocoa. Not quite as sweet as other Stouts from Hubbard's Cave that I've had.
I'd say . . . You can't go wrong with any brew from Hubbard's Cave.

Purchased for about $9 at Lizardville. There were a whole bunch of these Hubbard's Cave beers so I bought several of them. I just had "French Toast" and really didn't like it. We'll see about this offering. This one also weighs in at 12%. They seem to have quite a few variations on different stouts. So here's another experiment. Poured out really dark brown and a tan head bubble up on top, but was gone within 10 seconds. The scent is primarily chocolate, very sweet smelling. Maybe a touch of cinnamon and vanilla. But predominantly chocolate. This is cloyingly sweet much like "French Toast". It's got more of a dark fruity raisin fig kind of taste to it. Maybe some chocolate, but I've had way better chocolate beers than this, such as Untitled Art Fudgy Stout. The taste almost makes me pucker up it's so densely sugary and sweet. It's like drinking coke syrup minus the carbonation after it's been sitting out for a few hours. Not my cup of tea. I don't see any redeeming qualities in this beer. I really want to like it cuz it's got a cool ass skull on the label and I love stuff with skulls. But i don't love this. Sorry, I'm going to force this one down because I want the buzz but if i didn't want the buzz I would be calling this a drain pour.

L- Pitch black.....no head......no lacing

S-coconut, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, molasses

T-Toasted coconut, vanilla, milk chocolate, slight touch of cola, wood, leathery tobacco

F- Thick, creamy, silky, some prickly carb......

O- Super sweet.....certainly a sipper and one and done....not worth the hefty pricetag.......first Hubbards Cave..... wouldn't pay thesame price for another.....very disappointed
