a weird sour here, tiki inspired, for better or worse, hard to drink much of this, but it sure is interesting. a berliner type kettle sour, pale and hazy and wheat based it seems, with a single simple lacto sort of sourness to it, light tannins from the grain and then a whole bunch of acidic citrus juice, lime for sure, but i think lemon and grapefruit too, and then some tiki spices, whatever those are, allspice or something sort of jamaican maybe, subtle in here in nose and taste, well behind the citrus, but not particularly appealing to me with all the acidity, this could be toned down a couple of notches on the sourness and improved considerably i reckon. the lime tastes fresh and natural and almost gives this a gin drink complexion, very summery and robust, botanical and distinct, but the acidity is high, and this is sharp on the teeth and in the belly. its also not carbonated nearly enough for what it is, and a bit thin for being wheat based (i think). the spices last into the finish, a little sweet, herbal and more fit for the grill i think than a beer, but making this pretty interesting. i didnt really love any of the sour beer in here, their hoppy stuff was head and shoulders better from a quality standpoint, but if you like these flavored kettle sours, give it a shot, it was better than some of the others...
