Well, well, well. Buck89 does it again.
Gifted to me in August, 2019. Finally popped today. poured into a snifter.
Deep brown in color. Mocha colored head fluffs a finger high, retreating to a scattered layer of Rorschach pattern of tiny scattered bubbles surrounded by a thin milky ring.Slight lacing.
The nose is sublime. I am amazed at the the firm, yet gentle, cinnamon start. It's completely there but smoothly permeates my nostrils. Assertive but smooth. Bond, James Bond. Rather debonair. But the cinnamon allows vanilla, graham cracker, cocoa, and a glazed frosting note to play along as well.
Flavor follows suit but now the sweetness comes through in a well rounded bourbon glaze, not cloyingly so. This is nuanced genius.
Mouthfeel is fine for style. Finishes cozy, not hot.
Overall, one of the best uses of cinnamon I've had in a rich big beer.

Poured into a snifter. And no pig dark brown color with a modest tan head. Overall, this was a brilliant mix of sweet milk, cinnamon, sugar, and faint chocolate. It was fairly true to the cereal. The barrel was there but it was subtle and complemented the flavor quite nicely, adding complexity without over booziness. Overall, excellent.
