Dated 02/27/25, into a wide wine glass.
Pours a light hazy orange with an abundance of white foam. I think I poured this one too hard but the head is still half the glass. Aroma is intense, with mango and white grape dominating, alongside some spicy bite and grapefruit pith. Flavor is still the same mango ideas but has a heavy dankness that takes over the middle palate and a fair degree of bitterness. Finish is impressively long, with some white grape that transitions to grassy bitterness and eventually sweeter funk. Finishes very sticky and sweet. Mouthfeel is heavy and body is high, but I don't mind the 10.1%.
Overall, a monster of a juice bomb with deceptive complexity. Southern Grist usually hits with the NEIPAs and proves again that they're Nashville's best NEIPA brewery. While Marble Fox puts up a good fight in the TIPA category, this silly beer drinks almost like a single and has unbeatable depth of flavor and drinkability.

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 10/13/21. Received yesterday from @WunderLlama as part of NBS BIF #14 shenanigans.
Pours a murky orange-yellow. As I approached the end of the can, it started to look a little like a mudslide, so I stopped pouring, leaving probably a half-inch in the bottom. Shows a medium sized head that collapses to a thin dusting with a medium sized ring. Substantial amount of fine, ongoing carbonation. Smell is moderate tropical with a green leafy twist. Very ripe, a bit boozy.
Taste is SUPER juicy. Orange, mango, pineapple. Very slowly, a mild bitterness creeps in, but it isn't a match for the juiciness. Still clearly boozy.
Mouthfeel is thick, almost pulpy (maybe actually pulpy, if I start drinking the mud at the bottom of the can), with a nice slight effervescence to keep it from seeming heavy. Overall, this is a nice IIIPA. If I was handed one after another, I could get in trouble, but I probably wouldn't seek out one after another.

Pours a murky orange color with a creamy oatmeal colored head that provides moderate lacing. The nose citrus (oranges, grapefruit) and the almost white grape note I associate with Nelson Sauvin hops.
The ripe orange flavor is forward on the the taste, with a bit of bitterness from the grapefruit and that delicious white grape flavor that leads to a slightly creamy mouthfeel and finish.
This is a complex, big boy hazy (10.1% ABV) that is really well done.

16 oz can, dated 10/14/20, into BIBCO Willie. Been waiting to crack this for awhile.
Pours a really juicy darker amber-yellow with a tall creamy 3 finger head, destroying the glass with lace.
The aroma is just RUDE. Man, what a rude beer. Super dank and alcohol-heavy. Diesel-infused stone fruit. Lots of fruit. But it's soaked in diesel. Then you got Cheech across the room smoking his pipe. Stone fruit and oranges, mango, pineapple, dragonfruit, spoiled white grapes - all drunk.
Flavor is a good mish-mash of west coast and east coast. Super drunk tangerine and passion fruit. A follow-up slap of cannabis and pine. This beer feels like it's going to destroy me. My can says 8.1%, but I have no doubt that is total bullshit. It's common knowledge that TN beer lies about its ABV. I'm gonna go with what's listed here on BA. I'm getting fuzzy-headed already. The remaining notes are juicy but still dank and heavy. Orange juice, apricot, pipe bowl.
Feel is super creamy, very juicy, very hot, yet soaks the moisture from your tongue. Super hot.
Overall, once you crack this, stay in for the night. This beer will mess you up. Definitely a triple, and this "8.1%" on the can is definitely a misnomer. This is also Other Half-like. These guys have cracked the code. Feeling the drunk! Gibberish commences in 5...4...3...

Appearance: Opaque bright orange, a little less than a finger's worth of head, good amount of lacing on the top sides.
Aroma: Bright citrus notes, tangerine.
Flavor: It's very grassy yet citrusy. Tangerine, ripe orange, maybe some lemon, melon, and dank greens. I'm very impressed.
Palate/Finish: Crisp but fluffy, has a slight carb bite. Wow.. it drinks like a 7 or 8 % IPA, maybe even lighter?? Finishes with greens and ripe fruits.
Overall: I want to say this is SG's best IPA so far, of the ones I've tried at least. This is insanely drinkable and bursting with grassy, fruity flavors. I swear I'm drinking a single IPA... nice job Southern Grist and I hope you pump out more like this one.
