Pours a viscous, motor-oil black body capped with a creeping finger of soapy, mocha-hued foam before settling expeditiously to a near-blank surface with no collar or lacing in tow.
Aroma wafts pointes notes of 98% dark cacao pieces against a backing of splintery oak, seeing a richly tannic structure develop while charry vanilla is revealed over time and smoked toffee edges linger through the bouquet's close.
Taste offers dark cacao dominant upfront, with ripe bourbon interludes levying an ample char leveled evenly over the mid-palate and across the back end, with a conglomerate of burnt milk chocolate, baked toffee, and hints of marshmallow fade through black cherry esters on the finish.
Mouthfeel features a deft, medium-light body sporting silky subtext carried through minimal carbonation into a level, roasty grit layered across the palate before fading to a creamier back end balanced with mild char interspersed past the swallow.
Impressive barrel definition yields an oaky apex in a healthy nod to a woodier Knob Creek template while lush cocoa overlays see layered bittersweetness imbued in harmony; a simple yet brilliant cohesion on display.
