If you enjoy lazy days and sipping on refreshing libations, our newest smoothie-style ale is for you. Perezoso is a collaboration with our Florida friends at Tripping Animals Brewing Co. We pureed over 2,600 pounds of organic mangos and blueberries and added the fruit blend to a kettle sour base after fermentation to create a smoothie-like mouthfeel. Aromas of ripe mango, passion fruit and blackberry give way to flavors of tangy orange juice and crushed blueberry. Pour yourself a glass of this perfectly tart and sweet tropical creation, then sit back, relax, and enjoy la pura vida.

Pours a turbid purple with rapidly disappearing pink head. Zero head retention & lacing

S: Blueberries, vanilla once warmer

T: Blueberries, mangoes, a little vanilla & dryness up front. Dryness, blueberries, a little banana & mango & vanilla cream as this beer warms up. Finishes with sweet blueberries, a little mango & vanilla

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, sticky on the teeth. Very smoothie like, a bit of grittyness

Easy to drink, good flavor

16oz can served in a WABL sample glass. Can is dated 04/12/23.

Pours a sludgy purple with visible carbonation but not exactly head. Although this isn't universally accepted as the standard for "fruited kettle sour" style beers, I recognize this as the expectation for this specific subset. Smell is yeast and berries and maybe some banana.

Taste is moderately sweet fruit smoothie, some sourness to keep it drinkable. Tons of berry and maybe still a little bit of that banana, vaguely tropical.

Mouthfeel is thick and pulpy. Overall...it's an OK example of the style.

Went over to Pure Project for this beer and another, splitting 4-packs with Sonny and Kevin. Pure’s website described this one as “If you enjoy lazy days and sipping on refreshing libations, our newest smoothie-style ale is for you. Poured a purple grape color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy off-white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up from the sides of the glass, looking a bit like a snow globe. Almost perfect foggy lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Initially the smell was a little off-putting. Mango dominated, followed by passion fruit, papaya, blueberry, blackberry, black pepper and orange juice. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)

Tasted a little better than the nose. In order got mango, blueberry, passion fruit, papaya, blackberry, purple grape and black pepper. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Not as good as I hoped it would be but still solid overall. (Overall - 4.00)

Pours a slurpy purple-ish red with no real head but leaves some residue. Aroma of Blueberry and mango. Taste follows nose. More like a smoothie than a beer

a kettle sour with a whole boatload of mango and blueberry, cool fruit combination but this is more of a cocktail or a smoothie than a beer, not the kind of stuff i know these guys for, but its been awhile, and this is a collaboration with tripping animals, who i reckon does a little more of this sort of thing. cool they use organic fruit, the color of this is insane, electric violet and thick looking, bright in the glass, gloopy in texture, but the color pops. no denying this smells and tastes good, but its all fruit, nothing really beery about it, tart yeah, but nothing of interest on the ferment, no grain or hops to speak of to my senses here, and it just seems totally driven by the fruit. the cool part is i get both mango and blueberry equally in this, both fresh and natural and on steroids, a little tang to the mango is sympathetic with the lactic pucker, and the blueberry has a vinous tannic twang to it as well. then the sweet sides of the fruits also work together, sugary ripe mango up front, more jammy concentrated blueberry character later on, very cool interplay between the two. its sweet even though its tart, and the texture is like jelly, not sure why this has become a trend in this style, or how anyone could drink a whole can of a beer like this, that part turns me off, no real carbonation to it, how do you carbonate a solid anyway? lots to like about this from a fruit standpoint, tastes good obviously, but there is something left to be desired here on the beer front, at least for me, which is why these styles, no matter how well executed they are, never quite all the way satisfy for me. fun to taste, been too long since i had a pure project beer, thanks to my buddy for the share!
