Poured into a flared tulip, the appearance was a hazy deep gold color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white semi-foamy head. Gentle dissipation, left some slight speckled lace. The aroma had some earthy pine/resin, then some sweet grapefruit pulp. Light bready sweetness enters in to balance as it warms. The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas and adds some berries. Subtle crisp citrusy peel sits in the aftertaste and then finishes fairly dry. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable to sipping quality. Semi-smooth juiciness parallels the bitterness along my tongue, feels great and just like the great AIPA’s of New England these days. Overall, exactly what this brewery does best, so glad I live in this state.
